In today’s competitive hiring landscape (especially in healthcare) finding the right candidate goes far beyond filling an open position. For hiring managers, the true goal isn’t just a quick placement; it’s building a stable, productive team with employees who thrive and stay. A great long-term match is the result of aligning skills, personality, expectations, and culture from the very beginning.

Employee retention continues to be one of the biggest challenges companies are facing in 2026. Since COVID-19, the employment landscape has changed significantly. The workforce has different expectations, more job opportunities are available, and it is simply harder to keep good employees long-term. Companies now have to be more intentional than ever when it comes to retention, workplace culture, and leadership.

As a manager, one of the challenges I face is helping team members who struggle with time management and meeting deadlines. It’s a delicate balance!
