QUESTION: In order to do a national background screen on a potential candidate, do I need their permission?
ANSWER: To have a full view of a potential candidate, it is smart to run a national background screen. This screening will be able to tell you if this candidate is a good fit for your facility. You do, however, need written permission from each potential candidate to legally run the background screen. This consent form should include the candidates printed name, social security number, date of birth and signature in order to get a full picture on the screening.
