Work Week Hustle – Disclosing Information in an Interview

Work Week Hustle- Disclosing Information in an interview. Swift Staffing Solutions

One question we get asked a lot when preparing for an interview is what information candidates should disclose before receiving an offer. Many candidates are nervous about disclosing too much information within the interview and essentially “talking themselves out of the job”.

The truth is, employers appreciate a candidate being forthcoming about any issues that may keep them from performing the job. For example, if the candidate has a vacation or event planned that is in conflict with the position schedule, it is in the candidates best interest to disclose that information during the interview. This will allow the employer to work out a schedule that will best fit both parties.

Remember, they don’t know what they don’t know. Meaning nothing can be resolved if they are unaware there is an issue. At the end of the day, employers are aware they are interviewing candidates that have lives going on outside of work. Often, if the employer is really interested in the candidate, they will offer solutions or exceptions in order to solve any issues.
