Job Summary: Operates radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians and performs routine diagnostic procedures.

X-RAY TECH RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Positions patients and adjusts equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures.
• Enters x-rays computer.
• Instructs patients regarding procedures.
• Follows prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
• Selects length and intensity for radiation exposure by adjusting equipment on individual basis.
• Examines radiologic image for properties such as density and contrast, definition, magnification, and distortion.
• Authorizes release of patients upon completion of radiologic examination.
• Maintains X-ray rooms. Stocks necessary medical and radiologic supplies.
• Cleans and makes minor adjustments to radiologic equipment.
• Aids physician with various procedures as needed.
• Delivers digital discs for surgery to physician.
• Participates in training employees, residents, and student technologists in equipment operation, patient movement, and quality assurance.
• Enhances professional growth through education programs, conferences, and workshops.
• Maintains educational requirements for ARRT renewal.
• Attends meetings as required.
• Maintains strictest confidentiality.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

HOURS:

• Monday-Friday 12pm-7pm
• Saturday 8am-12pm

PAY:

• $26-$29/hr. to start depending on experience and certification level.
