JOB DETAIL

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant with phlebotomy skills to join an outstanding healthcare team in Tulsa, OK. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing support to our healthcare staff and delivering high-quality care to patients .Additionally, this position requires an individual who is adept at multitasking, has excellent interpersonal skills, and possesses a strong foundation in both medical practices and phlebotomy techniques.

Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomy Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform  routine administrative tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, updating patient records, processing insurance forms, and handling correspondence.
  • Take patient histories and vital signs; prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests.
  • Assist physicians during examinations by handing over instruments/materials or performing such duties as giving injections or removing sutures under the supervision of the physician.
  • Conduct standard diagnostic procedures including EKGs, sample collection (urine, stool), wound care management, etc.
  • Collect blood samples from patients following established phlebotomy protocols which include venipuncture technique; label vials with patient names and dates.
  • Prepare blood-collecting equipment, draw blood, safely store and transport samples ensuring proper preservation of specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Provide clear instructions to patients regarding specific tests or procedures while ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
  • Maintain cleanliness of examination rooms according to infection control policies; sterilize medical instruments as required.
  • Manage inventory of supplies; ensure that exam rooms are stocked with necessary supplies at all times.

 

Education & Certification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program
  • Certification in Phlebotomy is highly preferred

 

Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomy Experience & Skills:

  • 1+ years’ experience working as a Medical Assistant in a healthcare setting
  • Experience with electronic health record systems preferred
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy techniques with demonstrated ability
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Compassionate bedside manner

Medical Assistant/ Phlebotomy Hours:

  • Monday – Friday 8am-5pm

Pay Range:

  • $16-17 per hour to start depending on experience.
