We are looking for a highly proficient Medical Billing Specialist to join a fantastic team in Tulsa, OK. Experience in denials and appeals as well as utilizing insurance websites is high priority. The medical biller plays a vital role in supporting our revenue cycle by ensuring timely and accurate billing, follow-up, and collection of insurance claims.

Medical Billing Specialist Education and Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Heavy Experience in Denials and Appeals
• Minimum of two (2) years experience in a medical office setting; billing and claims experience needed to be successful in this role.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize effectively.
• Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative team player.

Primary Responsibilities

• Review patient records to ensure accurate coding (ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS) and billing.
• Submit claims to insurance carriers via electronic or paper formats in accordance with coding guidelines.
• Follow up on unpaid claims, research denials, and file appeals with insurance companies.
• Answer patient phone calls regarding billing and establish payment plans when appropriate and agreeable.
• Provide backup support for other department staff as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Pay:

• $18+ per hour, depending on experience.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday 8am-5pm
