We are seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician with Oculoplastic experience to join a growing specialty practice in Tulsa, OK. Candidates with a strong ophthalmology background and experience assisting with oculoplastic evaluations, procedures, and surgical care are highly preferred.
We are also open to considering an experienced Medical Assistant from a Dermatology, Plastic Surgery, Cosmetic Surgery, or Facial Plastics background who is interested in transitioning into ophthalmology and receiving specialized training as an Ophthalmic Technician.

Duties
- Assist ophthalmologists during oculoplastic examinations and surgical procedures, ensuring adherence to aseptic techniques and safety protocols
- Conduct comprehensive patient intake by gathering medical history, verifying insurance information, and updating electronic medical records (EMR) system.
- Measure vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation levels, while maintaining patient comfort and privacy in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Perform optical testing procedures such as visual acuity assessments, refraction, and intraocular pressure measurements using specialized equipment
- Maintain detailed and organized medical records, ensuring all documentation adheres to medical coding standards for billing and insurance purposes
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative care instructions specific to oculoplastic treatments and general ophthalmology needs
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an ophthalmic technician or medical assistant with a focus on oculoplastic procedures preferred
- Strong knowledge of ophthalmology anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to support accurate patient assessments
- Familiarity with EMR systems for documentation and scheduling
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse patient populations including pediatrics when applicable
- Ability to perform intake assessments, vital signs collection, and maintain aseptic technique during clinical procedures
Hours/Pay
- Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
- $18-$20 per hour, depending on skill set and experience within the specialty
