As a dedicated Ophthalmic or Optometric Technician, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional care to patients under the supervision of an Ophthalmologist. This includes managing the authorization process for surgeries, organizing bi-weekly cataract operations at our outpatient surgery facility, and more.

Key Duties:
– Commitment to comprehensive patient care and enhancing patient satisfaction
– Assisting the doctor during patient examinations and various procedures
– Facilitating ophthalmic diagnostic tests as per the physician’s request while ensuring clear communication through electronic channels
– Conducting visual field assessments
– Capturing retinal images with advanced digital imagery equipment
– Executing clinical duties in accordance with established protocols
– Observance of strict infection control standards in line with safety regulations
– Inventory management for exam rooms and medical supplies replenishment
– Managing logistics for surgical procedures including pre-operative consultations, laboratory arrangements, hospital scheduling, and follow-up appointments

Position Requirements:
– Prior experience as an Ophthalmic Technician is highly desirable.
– Proficiency in computer operations is essential.
– Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems is advantageous.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal communication skills coupled with excellent organizational abilities are crucial for this role.
  • The capacity to work efficiently across multiple tasks is expected.
  • Flexibility to travel between office locations is required based on departmental needs.
  • Expertise in conducting refractions is crucial.

Hours:
Monday – Friday 8am – 5pm

Compensation:
The hourly wage range for this position is $17+ to start, depending on experience.

Preferred Experience & Education:

  • One year of relevant experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • At least one year spent specializing as an Ophthalmic or Optometric Tech would be ideal.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent certification is necessary.

Work Authorization Requirement:
Eligibility to work within the United States must be established.
